Erotic Red buys
content from menstruating models who want to show off themselves
and their period from their own perspective. I DO NOT
BUY SETS WITH FAKE BLOOD. There's some pretty terrible
stuff out there in the niche, and I don't want junk that
looks like ketchup or strawberry syrup. Erotic Red is proud
of showcasing natural bodies, and sets with fake blood is
as opposite to that goal as you can get.
MOST
IMPORTANT PHOTO RULES - YOUR SET WILL BE REJECTED IF YOU
DON'T MEET 3 BASIC GUIDELINES:
* For finished
sets, I am looking for 50-80 usable photos. Chances
are that I won't use all the images you send in, especially
if many of them are very similar, blurry, or if there are
lighting issues. I suggest shooting at least 3 times the
amount you want, so there are plenty of images to choose
from.
* Shoot photos
at least 1024x768 pixels (or larger).
* DO NOT
photoshop, crop, apply digital effects, etc. to you your
images or change anything about them without clearing
it with me first. If there's something you'd like edited
out, ask me, and maybe it's something I can do.

Shoot your sets
at home, outdoors, or anywhere you feel like getting naked.
I'd like to do my best to bring period porn out of the bathroom,
but sets in the bathroom are still welcome. (So much of
what exists already is of women only in the bathroom, and
I'd like to offer something different.) You don't need to
make stuff that looks like it's from a professional studio,
but I do want photos that are well-lit and focused. Also,
make sure to include a few photos that clearly show your
face and upper body for use on your profile page.
Shoot what feels
natural to you, and don't do anything that makes you uncomfortable.
Be as expressive as you'd like to be, as the site wants
to show off menstruation from the personal view of our models.
Don't feel like you have to take pics that are "what
porn should look like" or go with "standard"
poses. Set aside plenty of time to take photos. You don't
want to feel rushed. Please don't leave big corporate logos
in the frame, and clean the space you'll be working in.
Having a mirror nearby can help you check yourself out and
plan how you want your photos to go. Check out magazines
and other porn sites for some ideas of what poses you like,
clothing/theme ideas, and an idea of how photos can be composed.
You don't need to perfectly center every photo, and avoid
shooting every photo from the same angle and distance. I
discourage flash photography unless you have a professional
setup. Amateur flash photos often come out very washed out.

The more light
you can add to photos, the better they'll turn out. Light
also works to make things like stretch marks, wrinkles,
bumps, and scars less visible. (Not that there's anything
with those things, as long as you're comfortable showing
them off.) Sunlight is wonderful, so consider a set by your
window or outdoors. Standard light bulbs cast a yellowy
or orange light, but you can find bulbs which are tinted
slightly blue called Reveal by GE, at most stores for a
few dollars. These are an easy way to get cleaner light
for indoor photos. Try using a halogen/shop light, inexpensive
at any hardware store, or a friend might have one lying
around their garage. Aim it against a wall so the light
gets diffused. Overhead lighting can create shadows where
you might not want shadows, such as under your eyes.

The big one
is that it should be apparent in your photos that you are
indeed menstruating. You don't need to be super bloody,
but periods are the theme of the site.
Although it's
a vague guideline, I am not looking for sets/videos which
lean more in the "used product fetish" direction.
On Erotic Red, I want the focus to always be on the *model*
and her sensuality, not the garbage of used tampons and
pads. What does too much focus on used products mean? I'm
not exactly sure, but like the silly Miller test, "I'll
know it when I see it".
On the flip
side: Some menstruation fans can be very keen on the
most minute details of what products you use and why you
like them. Erotic Red doesn't aim to over-sexualize items
like bleached tampons or plastic pads, so I do encourage
showing off your Keepers, Diva Cups, washable pads, sea
sponges, and other methods that are healthier for you and
don't create loads of trash. I'd like to use the site to
educate people about alternative menstrual products.
What it comes
down to: I'm looking for hot content which centers on
the model, her interpretations of her period and sexuality,
healthy bodies and healthy products, and everyone having
a fun messy time.

At this point
in time, I am not looking for models who only want to submit
videos. This may change in the future, though.
So far as videos
go, please shoot clips at at least 320x240 resolution, which
many still digital cameras can do in "movie mode".
I don't currently accept physical miniDV tapes or anything
in the mail, so you need to upload your video in digital
format to me. Your clips must be at least one minute in
length. As it says on the casting page, I buy video clips
for $5 per minute, maximum of $25 per clip, although a longer
scene with 2-3 distinct things happening may be broken down
into a couple clips by me at my discretion. For example,
if you have an 8 minute clip of you masturbating on your
bed, I would consider that one clip, and pay $25 for it.
Or, if you have an 8 minute clip of you using a speculum
to show off your cervix well, and then get into some toying,
I'd break it into two clips and pay $40 for it.
With monthly
period journal entries, I buy one per cycle @ $20, and and
extra $20 for a candid photo or few with it. Journal entries
should be dated and be at least 250 words long, although
you're welcome to write more.
I buy articles/essays/rants/erotica
for $20, and am looking for a variety of pieces on pretty
much any period-related topic. It can be a funny story about
bleeding down your leg by accident, the reasons why you
love your certain menstrual product, steamy erotica or fiction,
political rants about menstruation, you name it. These should
be at least 500 words, but like journal entries, can be
longer. As with journal entries, I'll pay an extra $20 for
a photo or few with your essay/rant/erotica piece.
Writings and
videos, like photo sets, are being bought as exclusive,
and may not be resold or used elsewhere. (Meaning, you can't
just copy something you wrote in your Livejournal and get
paid for it.)
